Over 370 people were engaged with during the first phase of the review. This helped the council to build a clearer picture of the challenges people face when parking in and around the town centre and railway station. Alongside technical studies measuring parking pressure at different days, this fed into a wider study of the area.
Detailed designs have been prepared that best represents the community’s demands based on the feedback. An informal consultation is currently underway to confirm the final designs and make any modifications or mitigations in response to feedback from the community.
Join us at Redesdale Hall on Wednesday 11th November between 4pm - 6.30pm to speak directly with the project team and let us know any specific comments you would like to make and any specific changes you would like to see.
Once the informal consultation closes, all responses will be carefully reviewed and analysed. This includes online survey responses, written submissions and comments gathered at the drop-in session. Key themes and concerns will be identified and used to refine the designs, with a summary of the findings shared with the community.
A statutory consultation will be held to confirm the final designs and seek approval from the community prior to implementation.
Subject to consultation outcomes, funding availability, and any required approvals, agreed improvements will be duly implemented. Construction will begin shortly after with the community kept up to date on when changes will take effect.
